First couple of days in Burnie

Last Wednesday I moved from Smithton to Burnie for the last 6 months of my exchange. I have a really lovely host family with a huge beautiful house. From this house you have a very awesome view over the sea! I mean I already thought I was in smithton close to the sea with the duck bay but now in burnie I walk out of the house and in 20 meters I am actually at the beach! We've got one cat (can't remember the name) but I love her! The thing is the names are here a bit different than in Switzerland and sometimes there are names which sound actually the same! We also got a dog and her name is Bella (that is a normal name). My family is in the Surf life saving club in Burnie and they are always going for rowing. Because of this they always have like small fun competitions around the state. This Weekend it was here in Burnie. While they were rowing I was in the water and took my host mums paddling board. It is like a Surfboard but you dont stand up you just go up on your knees. As soon you are on your knees you begin to paddle with your arms and catch also some wafes which makes you faster. It needs a lot of balance! It looks easier than it actually is but it is a lot if fun!
